Gene is leading us on an exciting journey into a program to help keep our Plano Talkers meetings enjoyable and high quality.
He defines “high quality” as a meeting that meets the goals of the membership. One of the ways to ensure this is to monitor certain attributes of each meeting and keep track of how often we miss our own goals.
As a club, we selected the following 10 Detractors to be monitored each meeting. Our goal is to miss as few as possible.
1. Agenda contains speech titles.
2. All speeches are manual speeches.
3. Grammarian has a printed Word of the Day.
4. The Guest Register is set out on the table just outside the door.
5. Meeting starts on time (2 minute tolerance).
6. Meeting ends on time (3 minute tolerance).
7. Meeting has 3 speakers.
8. At least 12 members present for the meeting.
9. Room is setup and ready by 7:00 am.
10. Toastmaster has a typed agenda.
